‘Quality’, ‘Awesome’ – some fans praise Aston Villa defender after Nottingham Forest win

|

Some fans showered Kortney Hause in praise for his performance in Wednesday night’s 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest. The Aston Villa defender impressed at the City Ground and has developed a formidable partnership with Tyrone Mings in recent weeks which has coincided with the club’s upturn in form.

Against Forest, Hause made 56 touches, 47 passes with 75% accuracy, one tackle, three clearances and won three aerial duels. He also blocked two shots and scored a goal for his troubles. Hause struggled on his Villa debut but he’s impressed ever since making his return to the starting eleven.

The 23-year-old has made seven appearances in all competitions since joining Villa on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Hause can operate at left-back and centre-back and could give Dean Smith a selection headache when the likes of James Chester and Tommy Elphick return from injury.

Hause’s contribution helped Villa to victory in midweek and the Midlands outfit are now two points adrift of the playoffs. Smith’s men rose two places in the Championship table and are coming off the back of three consecutive league wins – 4-0 vs Derby County, 1-0 vs Birmingham City, 3-1 vs Forest.
