Jonah has just pointed out an article in the Mail On Sunday today as well.
Randy attacks Manchester City over their conduct over James Milner. Good to see our owner have his say:
Lerner said last night: ‘Big, bad Manchester City came along and asked for Milner and we said, ‘No, he is not for sale”. And under the rules you have to respect that. And Manchester City respected that for two whole days. And then they violated the rules and came in for him again.’
The report says that Randy won’t be making a formal complaint but nor will he make it easy for City to finalise the deal.
Interesting article on Vital Man City (a quality City site by the way) where 75% voted for their club to pull the plug on the deal: Click Here
Randy continued: ‘Who knows if Milner is going to go? Kevin just came up to me and said, “Ask for more money”.’
The reaction to James Milner was slightly mixed at the start of the game, about 50/50 boos to cheers BUT the majority I think remained silent?
However the reaction when he went off the pitch was a standing ovation and Milner clapping all four stands.
Was that a goodbye or was that a … ok, I might stay, is that ok?
Time will tell. Hope he stays, maybe the badly informed pundits can stop saying we are a selling club then? As I’ve said over and over, every club is a selling club when the price is right. As Alan Hansen said on Match of the Day last night… Milner is a very good player, but worth £30m? Not really! So if you get that sort of money AND if the player wants to leave, how can you not sell? Just look (yes, you know what is coming) at Manchester United selling the best player in the World!
So… would you be happy to see Milner stay or should we take the cash?
