Renaming Villa Park?

This has come up a few times.

Each time it does, it is shouted down to be fair… but with what Man City have done recently, maybe Clubs are going to have to look at such things again?

From amb ad an article suggestion:

renaming stadium for cash????

So I have been thinking about how the new rules are coming into place in 2013 about clubs only being able to spend money based on the revenue coming in!

With that my thoughts went back to the naming rights of Manchester City`s stadium and Arsenal`s stadium?

I was wondering if fans would change their minds on the name of Villa Park if it brought in revenue to buy better players and compete with other clubs?

I for one was not in favour of this but with needing to find ways of extra revenue it just might be the one option to bring in some serious money!

I have always thought though what if we had sponsorship for the seating areas like in the Holte End a big company could sponsor the seating are their or even the stand! That would be one way of getting rid of the Doug Ellis stand it could be something like the Carlsberg Stand and we keep the name of the stadium, they just sponsor it for say several seasons?

Any thoughts?
