Little bit of gossip going on in the red tops today, the one of note (and sadness) is in The Sun.

They claim that Martin Laursen informed Villa boss Martin O’Neill yesterday that he will need another operation which could mean he is out for up to 9 months.

The rumours are that Laursen, 31, is considering retirement having already fought back from several career threatening injuries.

James Nursery of The Mirror follows that up saying that MON’s main targets to replace Laursen are Everton defender Joleon Lescott who moved to Merseyside from Wolves and often linked Manchester City defender Micah Richards.

Richards might make sense if he isn’t going to feature for City after they spend their billions but – with no disrespect to Villa – why would Lescott need to move from Everton when they are fighting for a similar place in the league and have a very good manager in David Moyes?

The Sun also link us to 21 year old Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Maor Buzaglo but say no more on who and why, so I’ll do the same and maybe just let out a little yawn!
