Ron Vlaar has commented that his chance to move to Villa Park is not as likely as he first thought, as Feyenoord’s press machine continue to try and force our hand.

Speaking to Sky Sports with all the talk of Monday deadlines and the like coming from Holland, Vlaar himself is quoted as saying:

‘Feyenoord is in my heart and I have been through a lot here. I think the chance I will move to Aston Villa is not so big anymore. I don’t want to be kept on a leash, so transfer is off for now.’

Given Feyenoord wish to imply that we haven’t opened negotiations yet a transfer has never really been on technically, but Koeman’s threat to not involve him in friendlies obviously will worry the player, but quite why this is being dragged out in the press and hyped is beyond me.

Are Feyenoord incapable of continuing to operate without opening their mouths, until we actually make an offer which presumably would be at his release fee level?
