Ok, so we’ve covered a very tenuous link to David Beckham: David Beckham To Villa – Rumour! Lets see what other excitement we have for today, apart from the fact I’ve not had a cup of tea or any breakfast yet…

Villa and former Fulham defender Zat Knight is again being linked to a move across the city as reports suggest he is a £5million target for Blues boss Alex McLeish. As a Villa fan I can’t really see Zat wanting to make that move, can you?

Have the Daily Mailtaken leave of their senses?! They claim that Tottenham Hotspur want John Carew who was linked recently with money bags Manchester City, and are – wait for it – prepared to use midfielder Jermaine Jenas as part of the bait. They claim that Villa want Jenas but we value the England midfielder at around £6million and Spurs want £10million.

According to The Mirror Hull City are in talks with Marlon Harewood for a £2million move following the stalling of his career since his £4million move from West Ham to Villa. The 29-year-old is ‘desperate’ to leave Villa Park in order to get back to … well, playing basically! They quote a ‘source’ close to the player as saying: ‘Marlon still feels he can do a good job in the Premier League.’ He has also been linked to Middlesbrough but those reports at the moment appear wide of the mark.

Or do they?

A report by Gareth Bebb in the Express claims Harewood, who in that paper is a year older at 30 than in the Mirror. I can exclusively reveal…. Harewood’s date of birth is: 25/08/1979 so top marks to the Mirror and a black mark in the book for The Express… glad we’ve sorted that one! Sorry, where was I?

Oh yes, MON is willing to let Harewood go to Boro in part of the deal to bring England U21 defender David Wheater to Villa in an £8million deal. Oh come on The Express, this has already been done. Boring! Next….!

Oh not Spurs again!? This time Appy Arry apparently wants 23-year-old Ashley Young and the Sun say would let us have David Bentley and Jermain Jenas in a swap deal.
The paper claim this is a £20million deal and that they’d be willing to pay Young £55 000 a week. Come off it, he is probably not far off that at Villa and any club taking him would surely have to pay him mad money? Funny how £55k isn’t viewed as mad money now isn’t it?!?! I could see him being tempted by a top four club with Champions League next season, but sorry, this link is daft at best and contemptuous at worst!
