Young goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist is determined to star in tonight’s Youth FA Cup Final 1st leg against Chelsea and add another medal to his collection.

Speaking on the Official Site ahead of tonight’s 1st leg at Villa Park, Siegrist described the Youth Cup as the greatest competition for young players in the Country and he fully intends to replicate the form that saw him take the Youth World Cup Golden Gloves award when Switzerland were triumphant.

‘It’s a great feeling to be in the final. It’s a little bit of history for the club being in the Final again. We’ll give it our best.’

Siegrist will bring bags of experience to the final given his exploits already this year, and turning out at Villa Park and then Stamford Bridge whilst no doubt a special moment, won’t see him intimidated at all.

‘I’m used to playing in big stadiums now which is good for me. It was a great experience to play in a World Cup and win it infront of 60,000 fans.’

He does however have his feet firmly on the ground, despite almost becoming a household name amongst the faithful with how often he’s popped up this year on the official site by ending with:

‘But it’s still football and we know what we can do – it’s the same if you play in a big stadium or on the training pitch.’

Kick off for the final is 7.30pm and entry is FREE! For those not lucky enough to get down there the match is being shown on the Football Association’s website and text commentary and the like is available on Villa’s official site.
