In Saturday’s final regular Championship clash of the 2018/19 campaign, Aston Villa welcomed Norwich City to Villa Park.

With plenty of changes made by head coach Dean Smith, few were upset with our performance on the day and we gave the title winners a run for their money, but they did nick the 2-1 victory to bring our unbeaten run to an end.

For any fans at the halftime break who went for a cheeky pint or a bit of nosh, they may have missed on loan Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham being given his own special award for his goalscoring efforts this season.

With 25 league goals to his name this year, Abraham smashed through Peter Withe’s record and he becomes the first player since Andy Gray back in the 1976/77 campaign to bag 25 goals.

A deserved award and a class touch from the club and the 21-year-old will certainly know he’s appreciated by the club and the fans after that – if he didn’t already know that of course.
