Right guys, lets see what we can raise here.

The club have very kindly donated the following:

One XL Villa shirt signed by the current squad.
One Villa scarf.
One Villa enamel badge (which I have to be honest, I nearly nicked, I do like my badges !)
Two Villa pens.
One Villa keyring.
One Villa crest.
And a partridge in a pear trea (I’ve had two of the pears)

We want your bids for these items to donate to the fund DeanoVilla is running in memory of his sadly departed wife Sarah. In loving memory of Sarah – Click Here

If we can’t get a bid high enough I’ll put this on Ebay to see if we can get a higher bid. (no legal jargon, DeanoVilla and me will decide if the bid is ok, if not – tough!)

So to bid, just leave a pledge within the front page article comments. As said, if we don’t raise what we think the signed shirt etc are worth, we might well put it on ebay to see if we can attract higher bids. All the money obviously goes to the fund for the cause.

Deano said on the forum recently:

I would just like to say a HUGE HUGE thank you for all of your messages of support and donations at this difficult time.

I am overwhelmed at the kindness and generosity of fellow football fans, not just from Villa, but other clubs also (I have to admit I’ll never think the same way about a Bluenose again!).

It just goes to show how a game of football is eclipsed by such a tradegy. This article alone has helped raise £335 so far, added to donations from friends, collegues and family we are hoping to raise in excess of £2000 which will be enough to buy 3 nebulisers for patients with CF at the Heartlands Hospital.

I think the figure raised just goes to show how popular Sarah was and why I fell so madly in love with her. There were over 200 people at her funeral on Tuesday and again, that just shows how special she was.

I will keep all of you informed and e-mail every single one of you individually at some point in the future to express my sincerest of thanks. All our Love, from Deanovilla and family, and Sarah’s family.

So lets see what we can do with the auction. Plus, further donations can be sent via:

Paypal – dean_stanbury@yahoo.co.uk – or to be more official the funeral directors:

(Thanks to PF, CCK, RL for listening and sending along these to auction)

  • Did you not mean £450 JF ? The shirt will be yours then

    I Bid £100

    Like the XL size !!!!!

Take it Dj Dj and Hendrie haven’t signed it, if they have it’s over to Denis

  • No, just Mr B is too quick for me, always was, always will be! Right, so we have £100 on the table, do I hear £110?

  • I’ve only just heard about this and I can honestly say I was moved to the point of tears. Coming from someone who considers himself a family man I can’t even begin to imagine the pain Deano feels. It’s times like this that make me realise how lucky I am. With this in mind I’d like to bid £25 for the keyring!!!

  • This is going well! Right, so looks like we are now having split bids and as Gordonsleftboot is the current highest bidder, we’ll go with that. £121 for the signed shirt is on the table.

  • We have a £25 bid for the keyring, thanks Rocky. +£20 for a pen (please note the pens do have Aston Villa written on but are only white and claret plastic!

Ian Robathan has also bid £10 each for pens, scarf and badge but can’t login to lodge the bid.

He also said First my sympathies to Dean and the family, terrible loss. I would like to bid £10 each for the pens, badge, crest and keyring. Obviously he has been outbid on the one pen + keyring.

  • Wow, this is going well. I’d just like to say thanks once again. I’m going to spend the weekend totaling up all donations and getting a cheque made out to the Heartlands Hospital to present to them, looking like it could be around the 2k mark which would be brilliant! Thanks guys for all your messages of support, it still doesn’t seem real to me, but its great having friends, family and internet buddies around me.

  • Also a MASSIVE thanks to the club for donating all this stuff in the first place. Who says big businesses don’t have a heart?
