The Birmingham Mail are reporting that the club are interested in signing Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham on loan.

Currently, the England international is said to be keen on another move to a Premier League side after playing for Swansea last season.

However, we are hopeful that the 20-year-old will decide to drop down a division. Most Villa fans were intrigued by the prospect of signing the forward:

Some were not so keen:

In my view, Abraham is a proven Championship striker. He scored 23 goals for Bristol City just two seasons ago, and he now also has a season of first-team football in the Premier League under his belt.

He can hold up the ball, but he also has a number of other good attributes as well. He would be an important player for us if we did manage to seal a season-long loan deal.

What do you think? Would you sign Abraham? Let me know in the poll:

  • I’d rather see the villa develope our own players rather than improving other teams players but the situation is we are short of footballers in that position if only we could sack that mercenary McCormack

  • Agree, give youth a chance, not just en masse in League Cup, plus token appearances on bench. They deserve more than that.

  • Give youth a chance ? When will people learn every 10 years you lucky to get 4 great players. Tammy scored 20 plus goals. Welcome all day long. Anything before March 2019 is a miracle. All good at the villa. I ain’t been this positive about villa in all my life. The future looks very good. I honestly believe in these new owners

  • Im still on the fence regarding the new owners to be honest, in case my math fails me isnt Xia still majority owner? and we dont even know how much these new guys are willing to spend.. ill wait a season before i go blowing trumpets lol
