On Monday evening, Aston Villa confirmed that highly rated young right back Kaine Kesler Hayden had made the loan switch out to League Two side Swindon Town.

The 18-year-old youngster impressed many during the 2020/21 campaign, making his senior debut in our FA Cup clash with Liverpool and he skippered our Under 18’s to their FA Youth Cup success. Clearly the club are impressed with his development as we handed him a new five year contract back in July.

As with other similar loan deals for our younger lads this season, it’s a season long arrangement but we do hold a recall option on him for January as we will want him to get plenty of minutes, but he should get just that looking at Ben Chorley’s words, as Swindon look to bounce back to League One at the first time of asking after their relegation last term.

Speaking to their Official Site to announce the capture, Chorley, Director of Football, explained.

“We’re very pleased to have Kaine in our squad this year and look forward to working with him through the season. We’re extremely grateful to Adam Henshall and Mile Jedinak for their help in making this signing possible. They have been in constant contact with myself and Head Coach Ben Garner, whose relationship with Mile played a big factor in Kaine joining. Kaine coming into the building goes with the structure and model we are trying to develop here at Swindon Town Football Club. I’d like to wish Kaine every success in a Swindon shirt.”

Should be a great spell for him really and plenty will be watching his development closely.

Scanning Swindon’s tweet, it looks like their fans are delighted to welcome him on board.
