I went a bit quiet on all this as I don’t really like to speculate as some have. It all seemed too important to me to be guessing.
I do know from some consultancy I did, that some of the reports saying how close to the cliff edge we were, seemed pretty spot on.
As I said in this tweet:
We really did get to the point where we were heading towards a coin toss, administration or not. Now it appears two billionaires for the price of one. Fingers crossed folks, that at last we'll have some luck with owners. https://t.co/9EbkChxYiW

From a coin toss as to whether we were going into administration or not, to the Villa statement where two billionaires, oh yes folks, we don’t go for just one billionaire, we go for two, have taken the controlling stake.
And as a good man on Twitter says:
Can.villa just be run sensibly please? No mad get rich quick scams, no amateur decisions just a good, well run club
No more bloody drama

Let’s see us run properly now.
I think (gulp?) I can speak for most of us when I say we don’t need promises that can’t be delivered. We need to see solid foundations and know that our beloved club has a proper future, not pie in the sky rubbish that never gets done and only leads to more anger from us fans.
I’m sure we’ll get some information out on the new owners shortly and hopefully we can all start smiling a little bit.
The only caveat to that is that despite now having two billionaires and hopefully they are intending to get stuck in investment wise, it still doesn’t solve the FFP restrictions and we’ll still need to offload players to fit those ridiculous rules.
Vital Villans, we have changed the commenting system so you can login and stay logged in (as opposed to forever having to put your details in). Hopefully this works better. Apologies for the delay in sorting. To comment, just login and off you go. You can also join us in the 100% Villa forum here… Any problems, email email@example.com ]]
