Alan Nixon of The Sun has reported that Steve Bruce wants to bring in £4million rated Barnsley right-back James Bree. The report claims “Bruce wants to buy the talented defender and put him straight into his side as part of a major overhaul”

Also in The Sun is a report saying we are willing to offer Ross McCormack as a straight exchange for Norwich`s wing back Robbie Brady. The report says that Leicester City are also interested but Bruce will tempt Republic of Ireland star Brady to leave the Canaries with a £50,000-a-week contract offer that would make him one of the top-paid players in the Championship.

www.birminghammail.co.uk say that Aly Cissokho is set to join Olympiacos.on a season long lone with the hope of a permanent deal in the summer. I hope this is true, at the age of 29 he needs to be playing regular first team football, not sitting in the stands or on the bench. He`s not quite what we need but I`m sure I`m not the only one who wishes him well.

  • Ordinarily, the McCormack/Brady swap would be good business imho. But with Kodjia away and Gestede sold, we’d bee in deep doo-doo with regards to strikers if Ross left. Unless there is something in the pipeline? If Cissokho does go, good luck to him. I li

  • JPA I am not convinced McCormack has a future with us based on his performances this season. I don’t know what the problem is whether it be him not getting the service or not playing regularly but he hasn’t set the world on fire at B6. We do need some new

  • Bruce and the doc both been in place long enough now – with our well documented weaknesses we should have had at least four/five players in during first week of January. #amateurish

  • Not sure selling Cissokho just now would be a good idea. If Amavi gets injured or suspended we have no one else who can come in to cover for him. I dont think finding another back up left back should be a priority this window. 2 mids and a striker are wha

  • I agree South coast, but what if he did go? That leaves Gabby and, er, Gabby! No Gestede, no McCormack, Kozak wants out. Is there anyone else? Apart from the kids…..

  • Anyone concerned that the good Doctor turns down £25m for, at best, an average full back whilst SB continues to laud Flabby and disses RHM? And embarrasses himself by ‘chatting’ to Dele Ali when we should have been busting a gut to get back into a cup tie

  • JPA I understand what you are saying but McCormack just hasn’t produced the goods and even if he does play while Kodja is away is he likely to score. I think we all agree Flabby is not the answer and I do wonder if the Doctor hasn’t already spoken to SB a

  • I just love the way our club handles transfers, cards close to the chest until the deal is done. Brilliant.
