Former Arsenal goal keeper Stuart Taylor is looking to take his chance as he gets a run in the team following the knee injury Thomas Sorensen sustained in the draw against Middlesbrough.

Taylor said: ‘It’s just nice to get a game. It’s a shame about Thomas, but it’s one of those things in football. You’re going to get knocks and injuries and his loss is my gain. I’ve heard he’s going to be out for two to three weeks, so it’ll just be nice to get a couple of games. You sit around waiting for the chance and here it is. The circumstances were very different going into the Man City game last season. That’s no excuse, but this time I can be better prepared. I’m looking forward to it. If you know you’re playing, you can prepare properly.’

‘When you’re a substitute goalkeeper, you’re just thrown into it cold and you have to be ready. But at Man City last season, Thomas went down in the warm-up and I sort of had time to think about it, but not really enough. I know I’m playing in this one and hopefully I can have a decent game tomorrow. I just want to go in, do al the right things and hopefully it will all work out.’

‘It’s nice to know I’m going to have a little run of games now. You can’t beat that.’

It’ll be interesting to see what Taylor can go on to do, Arsenal keeper coach rated him very highly and advised Arsene Whinger not to let him go. Wonder if that’ll end up a decision he’ll come to rue? Same with us letting Boaz Myhill, now at Hull, go really!
