Thomas Sorensen was happy with the result against Chelsea on Saturday but felt cheated by the awful Graham Poll who allegedly ‘refereed’ the game. On the subject of refs, our latest poll asks if the top four teams get preferential treatment. Ha, seamless link there!

Sorenson, who withstood a great deal of pressure from Chelski, told the official site:

‘I thought we coped reasonably well. The first 15 or 20 minutes we were a little bit under the cosh. But then we came back, scored the goal and until they made the substitutions in the second-half, I thought we controlled it. But at the end we were under a bit of pressure. I was a tough game, but we could have won it in the end with Juan’s chance, but it wasn’t to be.’

On the Chelsea goal that never should have stood he added: ‘It was a cross coming in and I had three players on top of me. I caught the ball and John Terry just went straight into me. I thought it was a blatant foul. I don’t think the referee gave us much throughout the game. When Juan was through and he was fouled, it could have been a red card. There were a few other incidents in the game which could have cost us, so it was not his best game.’

He also says he was happy with the way he performed and that ‘it would have been a crime if we hadn’t come away with at least a point. Everyone was fantastic.’

  • The above comment appears a little out of context cos I forgot It was to do with the ‘feel good factor’ story. Just thought I’d point that out.
