Sorenson Looking To Next Season

Aston Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen has an attack of the green eyed monster because he is having to watch and not compete in the World Cup.

The Denmark No 1 told the official site:

‘Of course it will be hard to miss out on the World Cup. I played in the last one and I’ve played in the European Championships. Every player wants to test himself against the best players and teams in the world and we will not be there, so that is hard to take. But we did not do well enough in the qualifiers and we have to learn the lesson when the European Championship qualifiers begin later this year.’
On the positive side, he says at least he will get an extended break and be fit and ready for the new season with Villa.

Adding: ‘We know we have to improve on last season. To finish where we did was not good and we expect to do a lot better than that. But last season is over now and we have to look forward. We know we can do better and the hard work will begin again when we’re back for pre-season.’
