Bit of talk ahead of the vital Villa Park clash with Spurs this weekend.

The club are only too aware that the last time Harry Redknapp entered Villa Park there was a coin throwing incident, however Martin O’Neill has told the press that ‘Arry has nothing to be worried about.

‘Why should it be a worry? The gentleman who threw the coin at the assistant referee has been found guilty. I’m sure that the people around the dug-out area will be aware of it and I’m quite sure security will be strong.’

Redknapp said at the time, when the linesman was hit by a 50p coin, that the person who threw it was aiming for him and was a ‘coward and a moron’. Fair comment really.

Meanwhile Redknapp thinks it will be difficult to emulate what Villa have tried to do, bringing in young English talent, purely because there isn’t that much talent about.

It appears in several places but I saw it in the Irish Examiner! ‘If I could find good, young English players, I would, but it is very, very difficult. You can go out and make a point of buying English players, but if they’re not good enough, it’s a waste of time. I do think there is a dearth of top young English players. ‘

Rather strangely he also says he’d leave Spurs if the White Hart Lane outfit get relegated (which is looking unlikely to be fair). How great a motivation is that to the fans and players? If we go down, I’m off lads!
