Alistair bloody Campbell has taken to Twitter to apologise for wrongly claiming yesterday that Stan was in remission.
The Birmingham Mail, who received the news as joyously as we did, have just carried his apology.
‘Apologies to Sunday Mail Glasgow. Was given wrong info re Stiliyan Petrov. Treatment going well but not yet in remission.’
I’d imagine fans will be gutted by this news, and no doubt the claim will have sadly distressed Stan and his family.
The good news is his recovery is going well and that is what we shouldn’t forget, and with the comments from fans that Stan would’ve probably had brought to his attention on the sites that carried the news, he will again know he is not alone and that the mass of support he has felt is still right behind him, and will now again be waiting for the news to be true next time.
As ever Stan, you are in our thoughts and keep battling on!
