Stateside Trip For Duo

Stephen O’Halloran and Jonathan Hogg have travelled to the US of A to see Villa’s friend, Dr Richard Steadman.

The two young players are facing lengthy spells on the sidelines due to knee injuries they sustained earlier in the month.

It has gone from bad to worse with O’Halloran, a loan spell that saw him get nowhere near the team, then a loan spell that looked fruitful before he damaged his cruciate ligaments during the warm up to his Leeds debut.

Hogg hasn’t had such a bad time of it, but damaged his knee ligaments aswell during the reserves defeat to Spurs.

Speaking on the official site, O’Halloran, a young Eire international commented:

‘Hopefully everything will go well with Dr Steadman and then I can start working towards a return.

‘I’m still frustrated by the injury, but there’s no point feeling sorry for myself, I’ve just got to work hard and do everything the physios tell me to do.’

Steadman has not let the club down yet, most notably with sterling work on Martin Laursen so I suspect both players are grateful to the club for sending them his way.
