Stats: Aston Villa 1 Cardiff City 0

It may still be a case of too little too late for Aston Villa on an automatic promotion front, but taking sweet victory over the mouthpiece dinosaur that is Neil Warnock should never be under appreciated.

The statistics show Villa largely dominated possession and we did edge chances, albeit both sides had four a piece on target.

Jack Grealish further helped silence critics on his end product by hitting the winner with five minutes remaining and we now sit four points from Cardiff, but they slip into third place.

I have to say ‘you beauty!’

Back to winning ways though and we have to hope that continues through to the end of the season so we hit the Play Offs with form. Despite the win we obviously remain in fourth place at this stage but it could be a crucial win between now and the end of the campaign.

Even if it’s not, it’s a great two fingers to Warnock and no doubt tomorrow’s headlines will be from him blaming the referee, low flying aliens, Brexit – it’s always something when ‘kick them’ doesn’t work.
