  • Fantastic. 17 attempts on goal. This is what we want. And congratulations to all who were there. Great attendance. Shall be making the trip from the South Coast as often as I can.

  • Great result, in the 15 games left league I have us down as played 3 won 2 robbed 1….who’s next!!

  • i cannot remember the last time i saw the number 17 in that column! and 6 on target – good job we got rid of baros haha

  • 41000 attendance too against west ham,*****in tremendous, see what a couple of signings do! anyone at game, how was big john and ashley? looking forward to football first

  • wonder what the atmosphere at match was like as well.probably bouncing! darn,so sorry i missed that!

  • Belfast Villain, it was a great turnout with every stand full.Plenty of vocals from the Holte and Upson got plenty of stick(Listen when he goes off on football first) Ashley had great composure up front waiting to play the right ball and Carew was knockin wide balls to gabby holding up and linking ,aswell as just running the ball himself.Cramp set in again after about 65mins and he was struggling but when he is fit we will have a Dynamo…looking much, much better., just needed that second goal so we could relax and play with more confidence.

  • cheers onelovevilla, thanks for the wee report, looking forward to seeing it on tv.sounds superb. UTV

  • Great game. Carew looks the dogs b*****ks. Have not seen the Holte bounce like it did today in a long time.
    Happy days

  • Great to see the ground so full today, good atmosphere, loadsa noise from the gum it takes me back to when I were a lad!!

  • Thought we looked nervous, tentative in our play. The free flowing football that was evident on Wednesday night was missing, BUT..we won, we got three points, John Carew is off the mark, and it was a great turnout. All makes for a great weekend. Great stuff from Tommy at the end.

  • Tommy secured the 3 points with those last minute saves. I thought we were going to throw it away at the death again. Carew, Carew was on fire. Looking forward to the time when he can make it through a full 90. I was almost disappointed when Upson went off – I was enjoying giving him stick. The lad next to me reckoned Will Young was there watching the gayme! Holte was definitely bouncing. Loved it.

  • Milan who? Carew was brilliant. any young a barry linked up really well. petrov also had a much better thime out there as well. he seemed more into the game and made alot more runs. just gotta knock more goals in now and then we are really off! *****lin geat stuff!

  • Methinks we have a hero in the making with Carew. Premiership will definately suit him. They remarked on MOTD how the midfielders have confidence in a forward that can actually hold a ball up and so make forward runs themselves. I suppose the likes of Petrov would have been wondering that when the ball bounced off Angel he would need to defend the counter-attack. Consolidate this season, the infrastructure is also gradually being sorted out, and push on next. Excellent!

  • It all makes sense, Randy puts faith in MON and puts his hand in his pocket for MON to make some decent signings and we’ve got a gate which is probably 10,000 more than if no signings are made. I know its just the start but it looks like its starting to fall into place. Lets hope we can keep packing out Villa Park and success will undoubtedly come.

  • WHU looked very average till they switched to the now familiar 88th minute 1-1-9 formation, had they have scored at the death it would have been daylight robbery.
