Stats: Late Show From Villa Secures Three Points Against Derby

Aston Villa travelled to Pride Park earlier this afternoon to face off against Frank Lampard’s Derby County side.

Lampard has had a pretty bright start to managerial life, and head coach Dean Smith got us back to winning ways in the last one so this one was set up to be a cracker.

Our change in style of play again came to the fore in the match as we again dominated play and created multiple chances…the issue was truly testing Scott Carson between the sticks and that was where we struggled.

We got our act together inside of the final 20 minutes of the match and John McGinn broke the deadlock as substitute Yannick Bolasie had an almost immediate effect on the game and helped himself to an assist.

We wrapped up the three points four minutes later as a wasteful Tammy Abraham finally got his reward to make it 2-0 and a Conor Hourihane set piece made it 3-0 for good measure.

A deserved three points and victory with numerous positives to take.
