Richard Dunne has said Enda Stevens is on the right road to becoming a Villa star of the future.

Speaking to the Official Site Dunne said that the 21 year fullback had fitted in perfectly at the club since joining in January and although he thinks it’s too soon for him to think of a first team outing this season, he’s sure he’ll be in the frame for the next campaign and he believes he’ll be ‘some player’ when he finally does make the breakthrough.

‘Enda has been really good since he’s come in. I have been impressed, once he gets up to pace with everything, he’ll be some player. I have watched him in training and he’s fitted straight in.’

Dunne goes onto add that Stevens is your typical Irish player:

‘He’s quiet, hard-working and very respectful. He gives it absolutely everything, 100% and he never shirks a challenge. He obviously wants to get into the first team, that’s his aim, and the way he’s been training and applying himself, he’s on the right road.’

I know you can’t judge much from one game, but having finally seen him play in last night’s reserve fixture he did look a nice tidy player. Obviously making the step up is a big ask, but if he’s capable of doing it and can live up to the potential many believe he has, he could turn out to be a very astute signing.
