Another name that will be familiar to followers of the under 21 set up, striker Thomas Strain has bagged himself a loan move to get first team action.
There’s no confirmation from the club yet, but the Chester Chronicle is this morning carrying confirmation that he has headed out to Chester FC for a month.
The 19 year old has joined them in time to potentially go straight into the squad for their Conference game against Southport on Saturday and possibly make his debut.
With brother Ryan also in our Academy set up, both have been regulars in the under 18 side, with more involvement in the under 21’s under Gordan Cowans as well, but this I believe is his first spell out on loan. At U21 level he has made three appearances so far this season, scoring twice apparently.
I haven’t checked I just remember seeing him involved and on the scoresheet at some point!
Tom signed a two year scholarship with us back in 2012, and signed his first professional deal last season.
Should be a good experience for him, and now all I’ve got to do is remember to add him to the loan list!
