Stuart Taylor, who is currently getting first team action following the injury to Thomas Sorensen says of his under study Robert Olejnik, or ‘The Beast’ (apparently!?)
‘Robert is a fantastic goalkeeper with plenty of ability. I am sure when he’s eventually called up for first team action he will do a job for the team. I am often asked for advice and the best I can hand out to any up-and-coming goalkeeper is to be prepared all the time.’
The former Arsenal keeper added of the 20-year-old Austrian keeper: ‘Your state of mind should always be the same, regardless of the situation. You’ve got to sit on the bench and think ‘you never know’. Football is a strange game – a first choice goalkeeper can get injured in the first minute or the last minute. You’ve got to be prepared to go on and do a job and do all the right things when you’re out there. Another good piece of advice is to treat every game the same – reserve or first team. You are there to do a good job for the team – it doesn’t matter what level it’s at.’
