Kevin Phillips has undergone keyhole surgery to try to cure his problematic ankle injury.

Super Kev said: ‘The operation went well. The surgeon has removed a small piece of floating bone that was causing some discomfort but he’s pleased with the result and now its just a matter of time.’

Adding: ‘Its too early to say how long I’ll be out for but needless to say I want to get back into the swing of things as soon as possible.’

Phillips is currently the top scorer amongst our strikers with 3 goals.
