David O’Leary has a further problem with reference to his team selections as suspensions start to kick in to add to the injury problems the club are facing.

Baros picked up his fifth yellow card against Fulham last week and will be suspended for the FA Cup third round tie against Hull next Saturday and Gareth Barry picked up his fifth caution in the 2-1 local derby victory over the Baggies today so he will miss the West Ham home league game on January 14th.

O’Leary also has midfield general Gavin McCann now walking a tightrope on four yellows having also been cautioned in the local derby.

Angel, Hughes and Milner are all on 2. Mellberg and Ridgewell are on 3.

To add to the managers woes, Kevin Phillips has had a set back in his recovery from ankle surgery and has confirmed, barring a miracle, he won’t be available for selection for next weeks cup game.
