Nicklas Helenius helped himself to a debut goal earlier tonight in our first pre season friendly of the summer.

Helenius came onto the pitch in the second half, as Paul Lambert decided to rotate players in each half to give them all a 45 minute run out to blow off the cobwebs, and it only took him eight minute to connect with a Matty Lowton cross and put it away.

Unfortunately we also conceeded an equiliser from a freekick later in the half, so we don’t start with a win, but I’m sure most of us are old enough to know what pre season is about and it rarely ever has an effect on the season.

First half:

Guzan, Herd, Vlaar, Baker, Bennett, Delph, Sylla,, Albrighton, Bacuna, Tonev, Bowery.

Second half:

Steer, Lowton, Okore (Carruthers 90), Clark, Luna, El Ahmadi, Gardner, Westwood, Weimann, Helenius, Agbonlahor.

Hopefully they’ll be quick news on the injury substitution of Jores Okore and it won’t be anything too serious.
