The 20-year-old Finnish youth international moved to the club back in 2018 and after a solid 29 game loan spell out with Scottish Championship side Ayr back in the 2020/21 campaign, last season we saw the youngster take his place on the substitutes bench on a few occasions as his progress was rewarded with greater first team improvement.
Speaking to the Official Site as the news was announced, Academy Manager Mark Harrison said of the youngster.
“We are pleased that Viljami has signed a new contract and this is a really good reflection of his development over the last couple of years, which has seen him integrate into the first-team environment and be involved in the matchday squad. He has also represented Finland at U21 level which is a recognition of his development.”
Having been more involved with first team training last term, and with his new deal running for the next three years, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him head out on another loan spell to further bolster his game experience.
Happy to continue my stay at this great club for another 3 years!🤝 Exciting season ahead! #AVFC #UTV pic.twitter.com/U3naTFMmGs

A top League One club for six months would probably be ideal here as he steps up further, but I guess that decision may well hinge on what the future of Jed Steer holds.
