Over the weekend, Aston Villa had some fresh transfer speculation to keep us entertained – we are apparently set to secure a loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Charlie Colkett.
The Sunday People (20/1 – P49) made the claim originally, and stated that coach John Terry had acted as the go-between on the deal and had even personally called 22-year-old Colkett to sell Villa to him as he was supposed to be completing a loan move out to Swedish side Ostersunds.
The former England Under 20 international has spent the first half of the 2018/19 campaign out on loan with League One side Shrewsbury Town, but that spell was cut short after only three starting appearances and three substitute showings but the lad is highly rated as someone with potential for the future but I doubt this will excite fans.
If it comes off and there is something in this it’s very much a case of in Dean Smith we trust, but much like the Kortney Hause deal, we simply have to have a buy option in place.
