The Baros Saga Concludes?

Reports in the Daily Mirror and on teletex say that Baros has turned a £6.5million move to Villa down . The reports suggest, despite DOL missing Villa’s trip to Utrecht last night in order to tie up the deal, that the Czech player couldn’t agree personal terms. Reports have also suggested he wanted a substantial pay rise to what he is getting at Liverpool. Figures of over £30 000 have been bandied about and the Mirror claim his demands were £2million a year, but then, not so long ago the papers were telling us we were going to spend £20million this summer, so lets not get too involved in all that talk!

I still say we wait and see, until you see anything official, then as far as I’m concerned the deal is neither on or off. That said, if a deal had been agreed with the clubs and we had been given permission to talk to his agent, would his wage demands and other possible terms to move not have been clear before the 11th hour when the manager met with him? IF he met with him, remember yesterday we were told he was at Bodymoor Heath! At the end of the day, it isn’t the managers that talk to the players about wages etc, that is left to the money men.

All seems a bit strange to me, not sure why Villa aren’t able to just announce signings after it has happened. It has gone on so long I’m not sure I care to be honest! Wonder what plan b is? Dean Ashton anyone?!
