Ha, I knew there was a reason I liked Freddie Flintoff!
Nice to see the former England cricketer and now Sky star has a soft spot for Aston Villa and a good understanding of what and who we are. Especially after we’ve just celebrated our 144th Birthday.
Nicely quoted by twitter account VillaReport:
Flintoff: “It’s a bit sad to see them down in the middle of the Championship but hopefully with this new coach they can turn it around. I’m going to say that they get the result on Sunday and bring a little relief to Villa Park.” #avfc

As quotes go, they don’t get much better than this.
“The glory days when they used to be sponsored by yoghurt!”
And of course, he is right. “They’re one of those grand old clubs that you can’t help but root for.”
Bit of a lighthearted article this really but I do love hearing what neutral fans think of our great club. Working on a football network, I meet a lot of fans of other clubs who all say they have missed the trip to Villa Park due to our relgation.
You can see that isn’t just me using claret and blue goggles if you look at this tweet, loads of fans of other clubs say they love visiting Villa Park.
What is the best stadium you’ve ever been to as an away fan?
