There were plenty of things for Aston Villa fans (and the club in fairness) to celebrate on Good Friday as we took Championship victory over struggling Bolton Wanderers in the first of our Easter double header.

For Villa, it was three points, a club record equalling nine wins on the spin going back 109 years to 1910. It also moves us to within one win of guaranteeing our Play-Off spot if I have my numbers right and on a personal front, with Tammy Abraham smashing Peter Withe’s goal tally previously, he now equals Andy Gray’s record going back to 1976/77.

The stattos amongst us might have more details or know of even more reasons for celebrations, but there was another side to Friday’s action that wasn’t so celebratory.

The game was the final nail in Bolton’s battle against relegation and everyone knows they’ve had a hell of a season off the pitch, let alone on it and I’m sure a lot of fans will appreciate that after our summer, their problems could well have been ours.

So top marks to the club for their reaction on game day when it would’ve been easy to just revel in our success.

New owners, a new gaffer, a new spirit within the players – nice to have our heart and soul back again and the simple message was applauded by fans on both sides of Friday’s fence.

That’s only a small portion of the Tweets, leaves a warm fuzzy feeling doesn’t it.
