Our opponents in the two-legged play-off semi-final are now known.
It was looking likely to be Derby County but then Boro equalised in the 6th minute of extra time v Ipswich.
So, Middlesbrough it is. Pulis will love that, he’s obsessed with Aston Villa.
So the dates, as you can see in the tweet from AVFC are:
1st leg Saturday 12th May, 5.15pm
2nd leg Tuesday 15th May, 7.45pm
CONFIRMED: @Boro are our @SkyBetChamp Play-Off semi-final opposition.
The first leg will take place next Saturday (12th May, 5.15pm), with the return match at Villa Park the following Tuesday (15th May, 7.45pm). Ticket details to follow shortly.#PartOfThePride #AVFC pic.twitter.com/IFE5qQUV7p

I already have my hotel booked for Wembley, I booked it weeks ago, so now all that needs to happen is our players, each and every one of them, to turn up for the fans and also for Steve Bruce.
Bring it on. Our players had better turn up, each and every one of them. If they do, we’ll win.

Some are saying they would rather have faced Derby County. Not sure I can see why really. We have just as much chance against any of team if we turn up. We’ve had too many games this season where the players really haven’t been ‘at it’ and that is what has cost us automatic promotion. The games after the Wolves victory were frankly ridiculous. But hey, we have to hope the team and attitude that saw us wipe the floor with Wolves turn up don’t we? We do at least have some big game players and a manager who is very experienced at getting the results in the play-offs.
I don’t really think anything other than automatic promotion was good enough for this squad but I think that will soon be ‘forgotten’ if we get up through the upcoming lottery of the play-offs.

Can’t help but feel 7 more points was more than achievable this season! Shouldn’t have left it up to this lottery! Fingers crossed! #UTV
