The Real Reason Ross McCormack Was Sent On Holiday?

I thought this a little bizarre, now I think it is clearer! Ross McCormack came back from Australia match fit and was given a two week holiday.

Melbourne City FC Head Coach Warren Joyce told www.melbournecityfc.com.au that they did try to get Ross back on loan but Aston Villa weren`t as interested this time.

The bit that interests me, as I was baffled when a player came back match fit, why he`d be sent on holiday (and I don`t buy what some fans said in answer, that he would have been given time to spend with his family, they have plenty of time for that after training!). He has a slight Achilles injury.

“The last two games he had an Achilles problem so we had to adjust. He came on late in both games and hadn’t had a lot of training so we had to adjust before that, we’ve prepared without him in the last two games.”

Adding they hope he looks back at his stint in Melbourne with fondness as he was certainly a big fan favourite.

“It`s just disappointing and frustrating we couldn`t come to an agreement and prolong it until the end of the season.”

Interesting Villa couldn`t reach agreement this time. No mention of what the player wanted to do though, he might not have wanted to have returned down under due to missing his kids, which is more than reasonable. Or were Villa not so keen to loan him back this time in case he was needed? Of course, now we have brought in re-enforcements in the shape of Grabban, Ross will again be even further down the pecking order. Such is life!

Oh and this article makes for interesting reading, well the comments at the bottom do, he`s certainly split fans! See: Would You Give Ross McCormack Another Chance?
