Aston Villa CEO Keith Wyness confirmed yesterday that half season ticket sales were soaring, with our biggest take up for the last five seasons.

Sitting in the Play Off spots and many hoping between now and May we can get ourselves into those automatic places for promotion, on Wednesday the January-May half season ticket sales went through the 1,000 barrier and Villa are confident that’s not the end of the demand.

Speaking to the Official Site Wyness explained.

‘There`s a real feel-good factor here at the moment. We`re in the play-off places and our fans are excited at the fixtures to come. Fans are very knowledgeable. They are aware of how important home form is and it`s no surprise to me that they`re snapping up our Half Season Tickets in big numbers – they want to help the team in the bid for promotion. It promises to be a very exciting closing few months of the season and I`m very confident our fans will play a big part. I`d like to place on record a big thank-you for their backing already this season.’

In other ticket related news, the club have also confirmed that the Trinity Road Upper could be opened for the visit of Sheffield United.

Ticket sales so far indicate that 31,000 fans will be in attendance for a game, and with another surge expected for the Xmas fixture, a decision will soon be taken on the top tier for the tie on Saturday December 23 (5.30pm KO).

U16s can gain entry to the ground for this game for only a £1 when accompanied by a full paying adult – 3 kids per adult.
