The Unholy Trinity To Get Aston Villa Axe?

The press, including The Telegraph are picking up on the unholy trinity at Aston Villa being set to be shown their P45`s.

The axe is set to fall on chief executive Tom Fox, sporting director Hendrik Almstadt and head of scouting and expert in the football manager computer game (ahem) Paddy Riley.

I would be more surprised if this DIDN`T happen if I`m honest. Their positions are untenable. Randy entrusted the CEO to do the business he was no longer hands on enough to want to do (a whole other chapter, we await a buyer to come along!) and relegation is the result. The community side of Aston Villa has also been ripped out. Yes, it is a business BUT it is also so much more than that.

The quicker this happens the better to help quell SOME of the fans anger and heartbreak at this woeful season (following many woeful seasons) and pretty nailed on relegation.

If / when this happens, the new chairman Steve Hollis will have shown some mettle, he`ll have a clear demonstration that he is in charge and then we wait with interest and hope that he can bring in the right staff in the key positions to try to mend this very broken club.

Unfortunately none of this, barring a miracle, stop us going down and that is not a pill that will be very easy for any of us Villa fans to swallow.
