Aston Villa chairman (for now?) Doug Ellis has told the Daily Express that there are twelve managers attempting to take the vacant Villa hot seat.
He said:
‘There are about 12 candidates to be our manager at the moment and they are very good ones. I am supposed to be on holiday, but I have been living on the phone for the past week. I have been working my guts out. On Sunday night I was working until well after midnight. I want to sort everything out as soon as possible.’
Well boo bloody hoo! I’m sure most Villa fans want him to sort things out as quickly as possible as well, but not the managers post, just his post!
Be lovely to know the list, is it the same list he released a few years ago about the sort of players Villa ‘should’ buy?!??!
No sensible top manager, especially one in a job already, will come to Villa whilst it is under so much takeover uncertainty and whilst Ellis remains surely?
Obviously former manager Brian Little and caretaker boss Roy Aitken have both thrown their hat into the ring, as have I !!!!!!!
