Martin O’Neill says he is aware that a couple of players – Gareth Barry and Gabby Agbonlahor – are both one yellow card short of a one match ban.
He said: “It’s part of life and we’ll be trying to compete if and when the suspensions come around, but I’m well aware of the situation. Gareth and Ashley have been on four for quite some time, and, being midfielders, it’s almost inevitable bookings arise. Some have got booked for pulling up their shirts in celebration, which is what can happen. When the bans come, we’ve got to be ready.’
