Aston Villa’s seriously impressive run of form recently under head coach Dean Smith has seen us more than establish ourselves back in the race for the Championship Play-Off spots and we’re looking to go one step further this afternoon as we welcome Millwall to Villa Park.

The early Championship kickoff in the second of our Easter double headers is an occasion that will go down in history.

Having picked up our eighth win on the spin to equal our record going back to 1975, Bolton Wanderers last Friday made it nine on the spin equalling a 109 year record going back to 1910.

Victory today and ten on the trot would be a new club record in its own right. A win would, at least temporarily, also lift us to within a point of fourth placed West Bromwich Albion and with some questions over the fitness of Tammy Abraham given his shoulder injury, this is the lineup Smith has selected in the hopes of taking all three points and making history.
