According to Martin O’Neill Patrik Berger might still have a future at Villa despite being disciplined and sent out on loan. Berger is out of contract at the end of the season but O’Neill said, when asked if Berger’s Villa future was over: ‘The answer is not particularly. It was a breach of club discipline and I didn’t see him then, because of that, for being in the plans for the next few weeks. So if that is the case, if he is getting a game somewhere, then good luck to him. But the fine still holds anyway. I wouldn’t rule out anything though.’ Ta ta Berger!!!

Thomas Sorensen underwent ‘routine keyhole surgery’ yesterday and physio Alan Smith told the official site: ‘Thomas underwent a right knee arthroscopy yesterday and everything went well. It was a routine procedure and there were no complications.’
