Villa_Grizzly: History matters. When Tottenham Hotspur beat Leicester City in the 1999 League Cup final they not only won a trophy but also qualified for Europe. Most would see this as being indicative of success. There was just one problem. The man at the helm was George Graham. Despite lifting a trophy in his first five months and playing some good football some of the fans were not convinced. They could not accept, in principle, a man who had won two league titles, two League Cups and an FA Cup with Arsenal. History was in the DNA; in the bones and the fabric of Tottenham Hotspur and part of that history was a bitter rivalry with Arsenal. Should such things be forgotten? No respite, no relief… There I was these past weeks, anxiously awaiting Villa’s financial results, like some bingo widow, desperately praying for that last number on her card. Highly rated youngster Connor Taylor has joined Tamworth on a month long loan deal. After progressing through the Academy and into the reserves over the last few seasons, it will be the 18 year old’s first taste of proper competitive football and if his reserve appearances are anything to go by, as long as he finds his feet, you would expect him to create a fair bit of a stir.
