Goodness me the FA are ridiculous at times. Keith Wyness has been fined £10 000 AND given a three week ban from all football activities. The FA Statement: The FA Go Way OTT With CEO Keith Wyness A small fine and a slap on the wrist is all that was needed. This is ridiculous. I know we all have to tread on eggshells these days political correctness wise and a CEO etc even more so, but ffs, Shame the FA don’t look a bit closer why fans (it was a fan tweet re-tweeted) are saying what they are saying about refs instead of being so precious. I’ve got a disability, I don’t see the tweet as insulting, so why are they insulted on ‘my’ behalf. How many times over the years have we (fans etc) said the ref must be blind? Is that anti disabled? Ridiculous!

Speculation linking Everton’s Gareth Barry with a move back to Aston Villa seems to be short of the mark. There was plenty of talk amongst the interweb over the past couple of weeks that our former youth Academy graduate (sometime left back, wing back, centre half in a three, left midfield, centre midfield) and all round good set piece taker, might be on the return given Everton’s takeover and the oodles of cash it was expected the Merseysiders would splash this summer. Former chief executive officer Tom Fox has said he was ‘comfortable and confident’ in everything he did at Aston Villa during the time he was with us. Everybody knows the history so I won’t drag all that fun back up for this purpose, but Fox finds himself in a new job now over in the United States as San Jose Earthquakes’ new president. Well done Tom. Read more: Fox – I Was Comfortable & Confident

Winger Andre Green has been speaking about his eagerness to achieve a boyhood dream next season following his breakthrough this campaign – a goal in front of the Holte End. With a troublesome hamstring injury bringing his season to an end, the 19 year old did make 17 appearances across the season which included five starts. Having been a clear highlight from the disappointing year, Green was speaking to the Official Site to reflect on the campaign and he was gutted he didn’t manage to get his first goal for the club. Albert Adomah has described Jonathan Kodjia as the funniest man in our dressing room and it’s quite apt as so is speculation linking him with a loan to Fenerbahce. Speaking to the Official Site Adomah opened up on how the dressing room kept their spirits high last season and apparently Kodjia was a huge part in that. With a 19 goal return, Adomah explained that it wasn’t only his antics on the pitch that brought a smile to the faces of his colleagues. Read more: Kodjia’s Funny & So Is Latest Speculation

Chief Executive Keith Wyness has confirmed that Aston Villa’s summer friendlies will have a more local feel to them this summer at the request of manager Steve Bruce. With many believing this summer would see a pre season tour of China, Wyness confirmed to the Birmingham Mail that China was discussed but Bruce felt it would affect plans he has to get his ideas over to the group and get us performing at a far greater level than we did last season. ‘On purpose we are not going on a long-distance tour with the players. We are letting Steve do everything proper football-wise so there is a stable, properly-planned, properly-drilled pre-season.’ Read more: Wyness Explains Pre Season Plans

Thought for the day: I did a theatrical performance about puns . It was a play on words.
