Suspensions are now starting to bite to add to the woes of O’Leary. Milan Baros misses the game against Hull this coming Saturday. Reports suggest that Villa, Everton, Manchester City, Newcastle, Wigan and Portsmouth are all chasing the signature of Charlton and former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy. Quite why Villa are quoted as being in the chase when Doug has already said there are no funds to buy players I don’t know. Anyway, Alan Curbishley has scoffed at the links and said: ‘Danny is still part of my plans here.’
