Assistant manager Roy Aitkin says that James Milner is ‘getting better and better.’ Shhhh, you’ll put up the price even higher. Aitkin told the official site: ‘James Milner has been excellent all season. It has been a real bonus bringing him here. He is such a great lad to work with.’ Wonder if he is honest as well?

Aitkin has also praised Milan Baros. Praise? For players? It will never catch on. ‘The difference between the teams (Villa and Portsmouth) was quality in important areas, including the movement from Milan, which won the game.’ The goal has taken Baros in double figures with 6 Premiership, 3 FA Cup and 1 League cup goal. Luke Moore still heads the Premiership goals table with 8.

Gavin McCann is dreaming of going all the way in the FA Cup. Should I be sarcastic now and tell him he’ll have to keep dreaming because with our performances this year, dreams are all it will be? No, ok, we have a chance!

Out of favour Charlton striker Jay Bothroyd has been linked to a summer move to Villa. Expect swap talk including Jlloyd Samuel any day now.

Lee Hendrie has been sentenced to 60 hours of community work after pleading guilty to attacking a man in Solihull. He has to be sold in the summer, the 28-year-old midfielder has never fulfilled the great potential that he has and brings far too much shame to the club with his off-field and often on-field antics.

Just as you thought it was safe to assume the Mark Delaney situation had calmed down, David O’Leary decided to have another rant in the press – despite slating the defender for doing the same. Full article: Click Here

Vital Villa did a poll asking what you thought of O’Leary. Seems not a lot, with only 24% saying great manager, wrong chairman. The majority, with 28%, said that the Villa manager was a joke and should be sacked. A further 23% feel that he was never a Villa man and should leave and a further 3% said that he ruined Leeds and will ruin Villa. 22% labelled him an average manager.

Kevin Phillips has told Villa defender Gary Cahill ‘You’ll get your Premiership chance.’ after the player, who was expected to start against Portsmouth, failed to be fully match fit in time. Phillips told the official site: ‘From what I’ve seen (playing alongside him in the reserves), Gary’s a proper defender he’s big and strong and loves to tackle, so without doubt, I think he’ll make it in the Premiership.’

Thought for the day: God put me on earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Right now I am so far behind, I will live forever.
