Unoial Villa News…

The official site have announced: Supporters are being offered the chance of terrific packages to visit Toronto during Villa’s tour of USA and Canada. Senior International are offering two sensational offers to stay in Toronto from 23rd-27th July and visit Niagra Falls during your trip to watch the claret and blue troops in action. This includes flights, transfers to the game, day trip to Niagra falls and to Toronto. All this for just £92. Superb. Oh no, my mistake, all this for £929 per person, double occupancy or £1099 per person, single occupancy at the Strathcona Hotel Or £992 per person, double occupancy, £1213 per person, single occupancy for Holiday Inn. For information, you can contact Steve Bullers on 01332 223515. Strangely the package doesn’t include the ticket price. Anyone got a spare 1000 quid? :o) You watch, I’ll save up my money for next season and we’ll tour the Isle of bleeding Wight.

Reports today are saying that Manchester United striker Alan Smith hasn’t been offered a new contract and that has alerted a host of clubs including Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and obviously Middlesbrough who seem to be linked to every player on earth! Another player linked again, due to his deal to Valencia collapsing is Ajax’s Wesley Sneijder. Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura is also said to be a target. Reports suggest the Japan midfielder is seen as a great player to bring in to allow Villa to break into the Far East market, although that shouldn’t be used to disguise the fact he is a good player obviously! Vital Celtic meanwhile have a report saying Celtic will not entertain offers for Shunsuke Nakamura. Click Here

According to Vital Villa member voiceoftheholte, Ellis live on! I have it on good authority that Doug Ellis is the head of a consortium that is in negotiations with West Bromwich Albion Chairman, Jeremy Peace, regarding a potential takeover at the club. This story is yet to be made public and I do not have any information on the Albions official stance on this. It is though an issue that has been developing for a while. I would personally doubt most stories of this nature but my source is very strong.

The agent of Villa striker Luke Moore has dismissed reports linking the 21-year-old with a move away from Villa Park. His agent, Steve Kutner, told Sky Sports: ‘We have not heard anything. He’s actually already back training at Villa following his shoulder problems. He is looking to be in perfect condition for the new season.’

The Birmingham Mail have quotes from West Ham United skipper and Villa target Nigel Reo-Coker’s agent Tony Finnegan. Apparently the player, much like the Flumps (you have to be a certain age) is ‘over the moon’ (or in Flumps language, over the moooooon) in Villa’s interest. Another report suggests West Ham will hold out for more than the £7million on offer from Villa for Reo-Coker.

Villa have revealed ticket details for the match against Internazionale (!) The game will take place on August 4 and tickets go on sale from July 2 to season ticket holders (and general sale from July 6). The price structure for season ticket holders starts at £10 in the North Stand. Prices in the Holte, Trinity and Witton Lane for adults are £15. For season ticket holders one ticket per season ticket is on offer. Any remaining tickets will be on sale at match day prices from July 6.

Lisa Smith of the Birmingham Post has a story about a 15-year-old striker who Villa have signed. Lisa reports: ‘Nathan Delfouneso is considered such a good prospect that Villa have offered him a contract with the view to a professional deal as soon as he reaches the age of 17.’ Gordon Cowans has been Delfouneso’s mentor, Sid said: ‘Nathan has showed a lot of potential and is a competent member of our under- 16 side as well as a regular with England where he has made a big impression. We have signed him up and he will be joining us as a pro next season. He is due to leave school in the next few weeks and we hope to have him on board full time this summer. Nathan did exceptionally well with Tony in a recent tournament in Germany while I was in Hong Kong with the under 18s. As long as we can keep his feet on the floor then I really do feel he will be a great prospect for Aston Villa in the future.’

Villa are officially amongst the cheapest Premiership clubs for ticket prices. Only Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic are cheaper.

Thought for the day: I saw that show, 50 Things To Do Before You Die. I would have thought the obvious one was ‘Shout For Help’.
