Martin O’Neill explained to the 300 who attended the ‘apology’ dinner following the Moscow doo dah, why he made the decision to take half a team with him. Full quotes@ Click Here

Vital Villan: Martin O’Neill is calling on the squad to reignite our season this Sunday just like we did on April 2nd in his first season with us. Speaking on the official site ahead of the crunch clash O’Neill reminisced back to 2007, almost to the game where he says he fell in love with this club and the moment he not only learnt a hell of a lot about the team, but to the moment he was adamant he wanted to push us forward. ‘In the first half against Everton, we were just wretched for every reason under the sun. The crowd booed us off and everything we got at half-time that evening, we thoroughly deserved. The team could have wilted under that pressure and ended up being in deep, deep trouble but they went out and showed their battling qualities and their character. There was a genuine desire and we came rolling back from a position of despair. That showed something about the team that really pleased me.’ Full quotes: Everton To Serve As Our Turning Point Again

Martin O’Neill isn’t the messiah, he is a very naughty boy! The Villa boss has been charged by the FA with improper conduct by the Football Association for his comments to the ref after the Manchester United game at Old Trafford.

Thomas Sorensen, get over it man, get blinking over it! He is again talking of his time at Villa and treatment by Martin O’Neill. Now fair enough when you fall foul of MON the treatment you receive isn’t nice apparently but for goodness sake, move on! He told the Sun: ‘I haven`t shaken Martin O`Neill`s hand since I left and I don`t think I will again. That is behind me now. I am just happy to be playing again. I think I have played really well this season. I am happy to have proven a point but I won`t have proven the big point until we are safe.’ I am sure MON is gutted that the keeper won’t shake his hand, although knowing Thommo, he’d only drop it anyway! :o)

Brian ‘he who walks on water’ Little has spoken with Setanta Sports in an exclusive interview saying that 4th is not the be all and end all because Villa are improving. Full article from the former Villa great: He Who Walks On Water Says Villa Improving

Oh my blinking lord…. you can wave bye bye to another Saturday home game as it has just been moved to the horrible Monday night slot! Villa v Hull has been selected by Sky Sports and will now be played Monday 4th May. Kick off is 8pm.

Villa have arranged two pre-season friendly warm up matches for the summer. Villa face: Peterborough at London Road on Saturday July 18. Kick-off is at 3pm and Colchester at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Tuesday 21st July. Kick-off 7.45pm.

Vital Villan: Nigel Clough is falling in love with Barry Bannan and is hoping he can extend the loan spell for the little man. The 19 year old has been very impressive at Pride Park after joining on a one month deal, but Clough is hoping to get the agreement of O’Neill for the loan to be extended as Derby battle to avoid relegation. Speaking to the Derby Evening Telegraph (delivered everyday you know!) Clough Junior praised both his attitude and his versatility: ‘Barry’s shown enough, either coming on or starting, and he’s given us something a bit different. He can fill a number of positions. If Kris Commons wasn’t fit, he could go and play off the front man or go wide left or wide right or even in the centre of midfield. So he’s a good little player to have around.’ Full article: Click Here

Martin O’Neill says they are working at bringing back the glory days and some patience might be required. Speaking in an article in the Daily Mirror he says that the club was ‘unbearable’ under Doug and remembers it wasn’t that long ago fans were ‘putting up all sorts of signs (against the regime). I`m not saying everything is absolutely right but we`re trying to improve the team.’ Full article: MON Wants Time To Bring Back Glory Days
