Unoial Villa News…

Aston Villa legend Nigel Spink believes time is up for Gabby Agbonlahor at Villa Park. Speaking to BBC WM , he said: ‘I think Gabby Agbonlahor is done at Villa. The way in which he has treated the supporters, his teammates and the club last year. I don’t know what he offers, he had pace when he was younger, he has lost that. I don’t think he is a threat anymore.’ See: Click Here

Dion Dublin, along with Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker briefly discuss Aston Villa and what needs to be done to get us back up into the Premiership. The Nottingham Post writes today: ‘Forest have not yet officially accepted a bid from the West Midlands club for Lansbury, but are resigned to losing the 26-year-old who has indicated he will not put pen to paper on a new deal with the Reds, having been offered an eye-watering wage packet – that the City Ground club are unable to match.” See: www.birminghammail.co.uk

The relegation I thought would hurt more than it actually did, maybe because we`d known it was coming for so very long. The takeover? Well, we will see in years to come but at the moment Tony Xia does seem to have good intentions and has made some great moves – Roberto Di Matteo aside. We have a top CEO in Keith Wyness and they`ve built a great team around them. We also have Steve Bruce as manager. Yes, Steve Bruce. The man we used to tell to sit down and call potato head. I’m confidently expecting a story tomorrow to be linking Andy Gray with a return to Villa Park given how we’re now linked with Stewart Downing, Fabian Delph, and Tom Cleverley. With us securing the loan of Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone the other day, former winger Downing is said to have been made available for a loan spell by Middlesbrough and for some reason – despite now not having a target man in the strikeforce – we have made a winger a priority. 18 year old Keinan Davis has spoken of his delight at making his senior Aston Villa debut as a late substitute in last weekend’s game against Tottenham Hotspur. The highly rated youngster came on as a 77th minute substitute for Mile Jedinak in the FA Cup third round loss to our White Hart Lane hosts and whilst he was disappointed to debut in a loss, he was obviously pleased to got on the pitch regardless as it topped a nice journey in his short career so far.
