Good old (or in this case young) Luke Moore. No bull, no excuses, just a frank holding up of hands that the loss at the weekend was the teams fault for not taking their chances. What a refreshing change, hopefully O’Leary will take note. Full article: Click Here

Vital Villa asked, following all the controversy surrounding the manager, whether David O’Leary was right to tell fans they needed to ‘get real’ or more exactly, that we need to be more realistic. 24% agreed that we did. Probably blue noses?! ;-)) 5% said he wasn’t right at all and the vast majority (71%) said he was wrong telling us to get real and that he should himself get lost! Full article: Click Here

Reports in The Sunday People linked Steven Davis to Big Sam’s Bolton side IF they make the Champions League. With Villa securing Davis on a long term deal they have no chance. Not unless the offer is sent straight to Ellis of-course! 🙁

Exciting link time for Aston Villa. Now before I go off on my usual rant, I know that a) Villa aren’t responsible for links b) the links are never true c) if they were true we don’t have any money so why link us anyway? d) there is no d but stopping at c seemed a bit short! Anyway, brace yourselves. Villa are apparently set to raid Sunderland at the end of the season for 20-year-old midfielder Grant Leadbitter. Full article: Click Here

The club were quick to deny the story that appeared in the Birmingham Mail suggesting Gary Cahill wasn’t played after O’Leary gave him an ultimatum to sign a new contract or be excluded from the squad. Cahill himself apparently felt he wasn’t match fit. Full article: Click Here

James Milner is said to be 50/50 for the FA Cup replay on Tuesday night. Full article: Click Here

Blackburn manager Mark Hughes has dismissed O’Leary’s claims that the goals should have been disallowed. ‘I’ve seen both goals and the ball was there to be won in my opinion,’ he said. ‘Their keeper didn’t have it under control at any stage and it was there to be put in the back of the net. There was a shout for ball to hand on Andy Todd in our penalty area. The shot hit Andy but I think it would have been harsh.’

O’Leary has backed Milan Baros to bounce back after his misses at the weekend and hopes he has been saving up his goals for the FA Cup replay. ‘He was very down in the dressing room afterwards. He knows he missed a lot of chances, but judge him on his goals. He missed them at Blackburn but he’s still got ten in 22 games. That’s almost as many as all the Liverpool strikers put together.’

O’Leary is at it again, criticising the fans. ‘I think there is an element at Villa Park, the players seem to be saying, that jump on their backs very quickly and they get a bit nervous.’ Full article (rant warning): Click Here

Didn’t realise until yesterday, but the Everton v Aston Villa match next Saturday (18th March) is on Sky pay-per-view, that is two weeks in a row! We are also televised on Tuesday night in our FA Cup replay v Manchester City at the ‘City Stadium of You Can’t Stand Up And Don’t Know Which End To Sing In’, or whatever it is called.

Stats from the weekends 2-0 defeat at Ewood Park. Full article: Click Here Our shots on target stat might have been slightly exaggerated by me.

Vital Villa asked last week if Lee Hendrie should be sold following more paper reports that the midfielder would look to exit Villa Park in the summer if he can’t get first team football. 34% said yes, as long as there is a replacement incoming. 14% said just sell him and the majority – with 52% (always was good at maths) said no, Villa should keep him.

Our current poll is asking who you would like to see replace David O’Leary if you could change him! At the moment 18% are saying they wouldn’t change him but 54% dream of Martin O’Neil. Hang on, I don’t mean they dream of Martin O’Neil, I mean they dream of Martin O’Neil managing Villa….phew.

Right, I want to finish on a positive note, so on the positive side, I pulled today. On the negative side unfortunately it wasn’t Rachel Stevens, it was a calf muscle. Hey, you can’t have everything.
