Reports are now saying that Villa have returned Eirik Bakke to Leeds. The reports say that he has been returned by Doug Ellis as a cost cutting exercise. As one fan online has already asked, are Villa broke or bust? How can a club this size not be able to bring in cover and can’t afford to keep players like Bakke for the manager who has requested it? Sven told a ‘fake Sheikh’ that Villa were for sale and that he would consider managing the club for around £5million a year. He wasn’t wrong in a lot of what he said to be honest, Villa are ripe for takeover and should be able to attract a top manager and players! Juan Pablo Angel has admitted he might be at ‘the crossroads’ with regards to his Villa career. ‘Am I at the crossroads of my Villa career? I don’t know. At the moment I am just concentrating on working hard and trying to do what I have always been doing. Nothing has changed in the way I have been working and the things I have been doing even when I was the first choice.’ He also says he doesn’t know how long he can let the situation continue as he’s never been sidelined like this in his career before.

I did a story on Monday about Mark Delaney calling him a gentleman, sportsman and a scholar. Basically he tried to calm down West Ham player Hayden Mullins. Mullins had been booked, starting mouthing off to Phil Dowd and looked like he was about to get a red card. What was funny is both David O’Leary and Roy Aitkin didn’t take to the sprit of sportsmanship and started shouting at Delaney to leave the player to pickle in his own stew, or is that stew in his own pickle, no cancel that, to get sent off!! The Aston Villa Supporters trust did a press release this week condemning the story in the Sunday Mercury which was linked to Villa in a very tenuous way. The Trust were angered that the Mercury advertised around the ground on Saturday saying ‘Villa Player Jailed’ when talking about former Villa reserve player Matthew Ghent. Full Story: Click Here
